Back to work. This week's auteur provides the bridge from James Brown to Jamie Brown, and his name is James S. 'Jamie' Brown. His day job is Camera Operator / Media Manager, and this really shows you how the industry's changed so much. One must wear many hats these days, and we apparently don't miss radio yet, as we're not tired of all this visual. I don't even know what "dit" is, for God's sake! Is it a drone thing?
But here's another curious thing I haven't yet taken the IMDb to task for. As of this writing, if you look at Mr. Brown's online résumé under directing credits, there's a problem: a problem of ordering. We start with 2010's video short, "For the Special Ones." Then we move on to 2017's Friends Don't Let Friends, and then to the 2012 video short, "Dying in Silence." It's got the rubric of (completed) next to it, but it's apparently taking longer than five years to complete it. Well, it can take a lot longer, especially if you're just one guy wearing eleven hats on it. In an ironic twist, James isn't the lead cameraman on it. But hey, that's what I get for being a cheapskate and not subscribing to IMDb Pro.
