Auteur Watch - Chabi Ibidon

If nothing else, this demonstrates the danger of wearing too many hats.  In the case of Chabi Ibidon, well... he seems to have all of them, including Stunts!  Don't kid yourself, I listened to the commentary track of Contact... a seemingly simple shot of Jodie Foster driving up in a Jeep was apparently not that simple at all.  Plus, if you're directing something, and you hit your head, does that shut down the set for the day?  The week?  I guess it depends.  Something similar once happened to Jerry Lewis: apparently, one bad fall, and he lands on his back onto a piano and boom.  End of stunt career, end of Wacky Jerry altogether.  Plus, Chabi's a bit of a perfectionist, so we only got one film in the can, and one currently being worked on.  Know your limitations!  Don't be afraid to relegate or delegate some of the work!  You know... NOT DO EVERYTHING YOURSELF!  Oops... sorry about shouting.
