Auteur Watch - Marianne Jean-Baptiste

Wow.  Where did the time go?  Seems like only yesterday where I saw she was getting raves for Secrets & Lies.  But some thirteen-odd years later, the opportunity arose.  Unfortunately, she didn't heed my advice: if you're starring on a TV show, you never NEVER EVER direct an episode of said show!!!  But, she went ahead and did it anyway and... well, arguably it is one of the better, more memorable episodes, but still, the bitter aftertaste hasn't yet gone.  But Marianne thought to herself, well, okay, maybe I'll just direct a short film this time.  So how did that go?  Well, seeing as how it was nine years ago, um... well, I'm not going to be the one to ask her, let's just put it that way.
