Brought to you by Zolo 2% Milk. Zolo 2% Milk! 2% milk so good, you'll be asking yourself, is it Zolo? Or is it 2 percent? Also brought to you by Howard Hewes' Belt-ch. Howard Hewes' Belt-ch! Great at parties, or even more formal occasions when there's a quiet moment, and everyone gets tired of talking about the Coronavirus. Well, everything's still shut down in this post 3-11 world, and Variety's not terribly forthcoming about any stuff in development. Something called 'Tiger Kings' is very popular right now, as well as Harley Quinn's egg sandwich... which I'm afraid doesn't speak well about us as a society. I never really cared for focaccia, personally. It was trying to take off, but the ciabatta took its place. Not as greasy, harder to chew... why wouldn't it take off? Anyway, now that the world's completely gone to sh... stuff, I'll phone it in myself and ask a question I posed to my computer a few weeks ago. As Neil Sedaka taught us all in 1962, breaking up is hard to do. If only it came out in 1963, then it'd be "Breaking Up is Hard, Deedly Dee Dee." So I guess the (series of) question(s) this week, is there anything else that is also hard to do? Well, Hollywood knows all, but apparently only about one hundred movies and TV shows asked the question. More than half stuck with breaking up, but there were a few that tried wandering outside the confines of the vast picket fence known as clichés and common expressions. I mean, for example, how about "Early Edition" Blowing Up Is Hard to Do? "Creepschool" Making Up Is Hard to Do? "Voltron: Defender of the Universe" Breakin' Up Is Hard to Doom? "Archie Bunker's Place" Growing Up Is Hard to Do: Part 1? "Archie Bunker's Place" Growing Up Is Hard to Do: Part 2? "The Bob Newhart Show" Breaking Up Is Hard to Do? "Charles in Charge" Berkling Up Is Hard to Do? "City Guys" Makin' Up Is Hard to Do? "Clueless" Making Up Is Hard to Do? "Doogie Howser, M.D." Breaking Up Is Hard to Doogie? "Empty Nest" Sucking Up Is Hard to Do? "Fudge" Saving Up Is Hard to Do? "Herman's Head" Bracken Up Is Hard to Do? "Step by Step" Growing Up Is Hard to Do? "Two of a Kind" Breaking Them Up Is Hard to Do? "My Sister Sam" Making Up Is Hard to Do? "Life with Roger" Breaking in Is Hard to Do? "Sugar and Spice" Breaking in Is Hard to Do? "Big Wave Dave's" Making Up Is Hard to Do? "Good Advice" Making Out Is Hard to Do? "My Pal Satan" Making Out Is Hard to Do? "Good Morning-Call: Guddo môningu kôru" Faking Up is Hard to Do? "The Party" Letting Go Is Hard to Do? "Streetsmartz" Making Up Is Hard to Do? "The Puzzle Place" Dressing Up Is Hard to Do? "Cold Turkey" Waking Up Is Hard to Do? "My Restaurant Rules" Setting Up Is Hard to Do? "Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles" Making Up is Hard to Do? "Family Guy" Breaking Out Is Hard to Do? "NYPD Blue" Waking Up Is Hard to Do? "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Growing Up Is Hard to Do? "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" Making Up Is Hard to Do? "Raising the Bar" Making Up Is Hard to Do? "The Real Housewives of Orange County" Making Up Is Hard to Do? "Gypsy Sisters" Making Up Is Hard to Do? "Faking It" Faking Up Is Hard to Do? "Crazy Hearts: Nashville" Making Up Is Hard to Do? "Full House" Making Out Is Hard to Do? "Buying and Selling" Letting Go is Hard to Do? "Out of Practice" Breaking Up Is Hard to Do. And Do. And...? "Cheers" Breaking in Is Hard to Do? "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show" Honey, Growing Up Is Hard to Do? "Roseanne" Breakin' Up Is Hard to Do? "Run's House" Growing Up Is Hard to Do? "Carmilla" Breaking Up (With an Amazon) Is Hard to Do? "Cake" Makin' Up Is Hard to Do? "Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch" Faking Up Is Hard to Do?
...no? Nothing? Not even close? Well then, I guess it's just BACK TO THE ANDES THEN!!! I MEAN, BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD THEN!!!!!!!!! OOOooops... sorry about shouting. So there we have it. Breaking Out in close second, followed by Making Out, and a few others, trying in vain to be clever. But as Hollywood continues to attest to, coming up with something truly original is STILL hardest of all. Stay well and safe out there!
