Okay, so directing didn't take.  But for some, if it's a choice between producing and directing, the choice is clear.  I mean, directing is all right for some, but it's ten thousand people all day asking you to make ten thousand decisions.  Being a producer gives you a little more distance from all the cicadas, all the pests.  The pests are, like, "Oh, that's the producer.  They're in charge of the money, so we should leave them alone."  But everyone, whether you're a producer, a director, or a car mechanic, recognizes a good title when they see it.  Take Love, Sex and Eating the Bones, for example.  It's a segment for the "Nature" show about praying mantises, and those crazy mating rituals of theirs, but you wouldn't know it from the title!
