For some reason, I always confuse James Bridges with Richard Brooks. To be fair, they're a little similar! Two writer-directors who managed to stick to human dramas, and both of their careers ended in the 1980s, both passing on in the early '90s. However, I don't think Richard Brooks has a title that can be considered his thinly-veiled autobiography. Maybe Bite the Bullet? Maybe Fever Pitch? For James Bridges, that's obviously September 30, 1955... the day that shook up a generation! ...and shame on me, I did forget to mention that James Bridges has TWO IMDb numbers, not just one. Doesn't he deserve at least three?
